2009 UPA High School Western Championships

The 2009 High School Western Ultimate Championships are a brought to you by the Ultimate Players Association. This is the top tournament of the year for high school Ultimate teams in the Western United States and Canada. 16 Open teams and 11 Girls teams will come together on May 16th and 17th, 2009, in Blaine, MN, to showcase high school Ultimate at its best.

The UPA would like to congratulate all the qualifying teams and welcome players, volunteers, and fans to Minnesota. Find out all there is to know about the tournament, and if you can’t make it down for the event, keep up with the action through this site.

Nathan Hale and Hopkins Win Westerns!

The Nathan Hale girls claimed their second title in four years and the Hopkins boys earned their first title at High School Westerns.For score details and write-ups check out the tournaments Results page. Many thanks go out to the Mineapolis ultimate community for their exceptional work this weekend in hosting a great event for the participants and spectators

Seeedings and Schedules Announced

The seedings and game schedule have been posted for the 2009 UPA High School Western Championships. Both of last year's champions are back, with The Northwest School taking the #1 seed in the Girls Division. In the Open Division, Lakeside will defend their crown as the number #1 seed with a strong Hopkins team coming in at #2. Follow all the action this weekend on the tournament results page, and get out to the event if you can.

VC Ultimate Awarded Official Merchandiser Contract

VC Ultimate has been awarded the official merchandiser contract for the 2009 UPA High School Western Championships. The UPA and VC Ultimate are excited to be teaming up again to support Youth Ultimate and look forward to making HS Westerns a memorable event for participants and fans.

Bids Announced

Bids for the 2009 UPA High School Western Ultimate Championships have been announced. Teams from all across the Midwest and West will compete in Blaine, Minnesota to claim the top prize. In the Boys Division Washington and Minnesota will both be strongly represented but contenders from other states will surely stand in their way. The Girls Division has all the familar names but will the favorites be able to hold off the hungry up and coming teams. Best of luck to all the teams participating and a big thank you to all the coaches and volunteers who support Youth Ultimate.
